I guess the one good thing about a 5 AM wake up is by the time you get to JJ Byrne you have the entire playground to yourselves.

Magical weekend with family and friends. Loved having my Dad, brothers and Roseanne in town and Jackson loved every minute of it. We had a great time at JJ Byrne playground and Prospect Park. Dinner was at the delicious Thistle Hill Tavern.

This may be the greatest invention in the history of water balloons If you’ve ever had the pleasure of participating in a water balloon fight, you will concur that the most frustrating part of battle is reloading. You think you’ve got an uninflated balloon securely attached to the end of a garden hose, and then as soon as you turn on the water, *snap*, the balloon comes flying off. Or maybe you don’t even get that far — the balloon breaks as you’re stretching it on. Or you get it all filled up, and then you can’t tie it and it drops and breaks on the ground. Now some ambitious inventor has come up with a solution to all those problems: a device that lets you easily fill up 37 water balloons at once, and 100 in less than a minute.

These are the days when I remember why we live in Brooklyn. Today we enjoyed a beautiful sing along with Miss Nina, which was supposed to be at Two Moon Cafe…but somehow they mysteriously didn’t open, so the moms scouted out a perfect spot in front of the old Stone House for the occasion. Then post three hour nap, we spontaneously discovered our main strip on 5th Ave was having a BID street fair, where the street is closed down, street chalk is available to all, and bars are letting Happy Hour spill over onto the street. I am in Brooklyn Bliss.

Best part about nap training? I can make an entire lasagna during nap time. Mama’s got her groove back.
